Moveable chicken coops have been around for a long time. Chickens decimate the areas they inhabit. From time to time is is a good idea to allow the plants and grounds to recover from that overuse. First, you need to ensure the structure is solid and can withstand the move. Dragging with a tractor is often how this is done but some farms build the whole coop on a wheeled platform. Roosts for chickens should be 2 inch diameter horizontal poles approximately 1 1/2 to 3 feet off the ground. They do not need to be round but edges need to be blunted. It is good to have about 1 foot of space per bird for sleeping on the roosts. Standard breeds have no trouble getting that high up but heavy breeds may need a roost closer to the ground. Make sure the roosts are not placed above the nesting boxes as this make for more work cleaning droppings from the bedding.
