How do you do yoga?

There are several different types of yoga. My suggestion would be to start out doing a Hatha Yoga which is a slow-paced stretching class with simple breathing exercises. It's a good place to learn basic poses and relaxation techniques, and to become comfortable with yoga. Once you learn the basic poses, you will feel more comfortable doing them on your own. Most cities have some sort of yoga studio.

The most important thing to do in yoga is to breathe, especially when holding the postures. Learn the basic Dirga pranayama breath to use during yoga.
