How do you drain the gas out of a 2001 Chevy Tahoe?

Remove filler neck hose off of gas tank and use a siphon hose to drain gas into gas can.

drailing a gas tank on a 2001 Tahoenot sure if it has a drain plug if it does unscrew it after putting down something to catch the gas in. If not siphon the gas out from the filler neck with a small diameter garden hose the best way is to insert the hose and wrap a rag around the hose to make a temporary seal then pressurize the hose with eather an air compressor (caution not to much pressure) or by blowing into it with your mouth once the tank has pressure in it the gas will flow back out of the hose. Be ready the gas will come right back out as soon as you stop blowing into the hose try not to get it into your mouth if you do don't swollow any. You will know if you have the hose into the gas when you feel it blowing bubbles in the gas before you wrap the rag around the hose be shure to use a small enough hose about 1/2" in diamater and cut it off at a diagonal so it will enter easer also twist the hose as you push it in and it will not get stuck on any ridges on the way in good luck.Tod.
