Take the bottom pain off
There is a bolt under neath the tranny. take it out and drain the fluid. ATF fluid 2.6 quarts is the capacity of the tranny
I really doubt that there is a drain plug for the tranny, usually you have to unbolt the tranny fluid pan and take it down to get to the filter and drain the fluid.
8 quarts with an empty converter 6 just for the tranny
The only place to fill the tranny fluid is through the tranny dipstick drain plug underneath

Find the drain plug on the tranny oil pan. Loosen it and the fluid should start to drain - remove the plug all the way and let the contents go into a pan. When doing this, one also needs to change the tranny oil filter - this is accomplished by removing the tranny oil pan and changing it.
YES.
Connected to the radiator.
The El Camino never used the 700R4 tranny, its 4-speed automatic overdrive tranny was the 200-4R, and it came out in 1981.
Yes...and most of them came with the 700r4. If it wasn't originally equipped the 700r4 then you may have to change the tranny cross member.
From under the tranny. Youll see one odd size bolt that is the drain. On manuals its on the differential bottom. On auto's its on the bottom of the tranny. Autos have filters on the front side of the tranny. manuals have NO filters
