On a 1997 3.9litre dodge Dakota where is the ignition module?

It should be located somewhere on the steering column. Look below the ignition key tumbler assembly. You may have to drop the column down from the dash to access the module. Sometimes that is necessary and sometimes it is not. Just get under the dash near the column and take a hard look see. Exact location I do not know.

How do you go about changing the entire steering column in an automatic 1989 Firebird?

steering column removalto replace steering column: take lower cover off, then there is a bracket on the bottom of the column with four brass bolts in it, remove those. on that same bracket there are two metric nuts on either side of the column, remove those. now the column will drop. next remove the ignition switch and dimmer switch. now that u dropped the steering column you will have access to them. go ahead and remove three bolts from where the steering column meets the firewall(you will need to pull the carpet back a little). next pop the hood and locate the steering gear on the drivers sidetowards the front take ou the bolt holding in the shaft to the gearbox. and then the steering column should slip right out.

Where is the ignition starter switch located on a 1987 Dodge truck?

The ignition switch is located on top of the steering column when you remove the two nuts, one per side, and drop it down. The tilt column has this, but the fixed column (non-tilted) igintion lock has a harness coming out of the switch and runs through the column, then plugs into the harness under the dash. That's how I can tell the difference between the two.

How do you remove the steering column off of a 1994 Chevy Beretta?

Remove the lower dash panel and steering column cover. Disconnect all harnesses going to the column. There is a metal bracket attached to the steering column with brass-colored bolts, and attached to the underside of the dash with chrome-colored bolts. Remove only the chrome bolts. They're fairly long. Once completely removed, the entire steering column will drop slightly. Now pull back the plastic boot from the bottom of the steering column and look for the small bolt securing it in place. I believe it is 11mm. Loosen the bolt only enough for the column to slide out.

Got to drop the engine

How do you remove neutral safety switch on a 1967 Chevelle?

It is located on the steering column. The same switch usually controls the backup lights as well. It is under the dash. Two screws attach it to the steering column. It is a LOT easier to get to it if you loosen the column and drop it down, but you CAN get to it with the column in place. Make sure it is properly adjusted when you reinstall it if you want your car to start though.
