How do you figure out which cv axle is bad the steering wheels rocks back and forth it is not caused by brakes or worn tie rods etc all that has been checked and the cv boots are not torn?

Did you check your tires? If the steering wheel is rocking back and forth you could have a bubble in the tire

well if you have no brakes in the back of youre jeep the best thoing to do is put new brakes on it brakes do wear down after a while and if no shop can fugure it out then i would go to a better shop if you have to go to dealer because if they cant figure out what is wrong with youre brake they have no bussness being a mechanic

Since the other steering components have been checked and found to be in good shape, the play may be due to wear in the gears inside the steering box.The Corvette's steering box permits adjustment of these gears, which may well solve the steering problem. Adjustment of the steering requires two people, but the job can be done in just a few minutes.The steering box is unlocked using an open-end wrench and a screwdriver extended through a factory hole in the fiberglass body.
