look at your firing order ,find #1 spark plug ,and follow the wire to #1 terminal on the cap, Get your timing marks aligned and make sure #1 piston is at top dead center on compression stroke. Take the distributor cap off. As long as your car has been running, the rotor button should be pointing at #1.

The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap faces towards the REAR
get a factory cap. its better and is marked and the firing order is on the intake
