It is difficult to determine the different pressure ports on your air conditioning compressor without knowing the make and model of the automobile. In most cases the low pressure port is on the right hand side of the air conditioner compressor.
low pressure side is located closest to the front of the vehicle on the right side as you are facing the engine it shoulh have a screw on cap with the letter L for low pressure.
You can find the low side air-conditioner in service port on the top of the air conditioner compressor. The low side service port is also known as the low pressure service port.
it is the low pressure side
The low pressure side of an air conditioner compressor is easy to locate - it is the side with the larger pipe. Follow the low pressure pipe back and you will find the gas nipple where fresh gas is added to the system.
Recharging should be on low-pressure side only
relieve the pressure off the high pressure side
On an automobile air conditioning system, the low side is the larger hose. The low side consists of 1 side of the air conditioner compressor, the accumulator or receiver drier, and the evaporator. The high side is the other side of the compressor, the condenser, the orfice or expansion valve and in some cases it may have a muffler near the compressor.
The high side will not hook up to the hose
maybe overcharged, or return air leaks (the hotter the return air the more the low side pressure)
The low pressure valve is on the side of the accumulator-drier bottle. It is on the passenger side of the firewall.
How do you find the low side of the air conditioner to recharge the AC on a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
The recharge valve for the air conditioner on a 2002 GMC Envoy can be found by looking at the rear of the engine compartment. It will have a cap over the valve labelled as low pressure side.
on a 2000 Malibu it is on passengers side under alternater 3.1 v6, follow hose from ac you will find it.
60 psi for r-22. 125 for a 410a
40-45psi on low i would use highside put it on 250
The low side air conditioner pressure valve is located on the top of the accumulator of the Ford Focus 2005. This is located in the front of the passenger wheel near the bumper.
The Pontiac 6000 low side air-conditioner import can be found on top of the air conditioning compressor. The low side air-conditioner port will be labeled as the low pressure port.
on passenger side of engine, half way up
On passenger side right between firewall and the engine.
The Air conditioner low pressure stem is on the accumulator (silver cylinder), which is next to the firewall on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
My 1997 Grand AM low pressure valve is on the air conditioner. I had to access it from the under the car. It has a blue cap on it. IF your looking from the top of the engine you can see it on the right side of the air conditioner.
I get hot air coming out of my air conditioner on the passenger side, while I get cold air coming out the drivers side. Can you tell me why and how do I find the schematic to fix it?
The refrigerant pressure for a residential air conditioner is around 75 psi for low side input and 260 psi for high side output. If the unit is turned off the pressure will be about equal to the ambient temperature.
