It's a voltage regulator inside the instrument panel that needs to be replaced. There are supposed to be 3 different types, depending on the model. Check the Nissanforums.com for more specific details. (I've got the same problem.)
No, but it can be replaced. I would recommend taking to a professional.
It sounds like it is the clutch cable. I have a 94 Nissan Sentra and the clutch cable just broke. I have replaced one on an older Nissan, but it is still difficult for me to do on the 94. It is really hard to get the broken cable out.

the most obvious reason assuming that the radiator is full of fluid would be the radiator fan. the wiring for the fan might be broken or just not working. the motor might for some reason be burned out or broken. but the most obvious would be in the thermostat. this device is normally in the engine near the water pump but im not sure where it is on your car. to sum up what it does : it tells the fans when to come on when the coolant gets to a pre set temperature. if this is faulty then the fan will not turn on thus not pulling cool air through the radiator when you are sitting still that would travel through it at driving speeds. the best fix would be to take it to a trustworthy mechanic and tell him what is wrong. i hope this gives you an idea of what might be wrong with your car.
If the dipstick has broken off into the tube on a Nissan Altima, you can remove it using pliers. Other people have had luck using industrial strength vacuums and sucking the broken dipstick up.
a solinoid is nothing but a relay... (it is a coil) when you put potential through it it causes an electromagnetic field causing contacts to change.. the only thing that will cause it to *die* is a broken wire or if the contacts points are burnt..
