there is no fixing the tensioner. It needs to be replaced. it is not difficult to do. use a belt tool to release the belt. Remember to have a drawing of the belt pattern before you remove it. in most cases it will not have to be removed unless you are replacing the belt as well. There sould be one bolt that holds it in place. loosen the bolt and remove. If you lhave a digital camera tthis is a good time to use it. pictures make it easy to put things back on.
