Remove the lock, take the cylinder out then replace with the correct bottom pins so they suit the key. Common cause of this fault is when someone does not cut a key properly or is an older key that has worn down over time
I also have a 98 tacoma and my key wont turn the door lock I took it to the dealership an they ordered me a new cylinder and they are going to rekey it for me thats what im doing. Your cylinder or plastic on the back of the cylinder could of broke
Will the key turn in the cylinder? i f yes the lock rod inside the door has come off.
try turning the key over It could just be that the arm for the lock inside the door has come off, you will need a new retaining clip before you take the door panel off to repair it.
Lock on driver frot side is not working
Access in rear door panel, allows you to lock/inlock rear door.
u need to buy a new door lock actuator
There should be two screws on the inside of the handle, unscrew them and take the knob apart.
You disarm it by unlocking either of the front doors with a key. If that doesn't work, that means that the lock cylinder switch has fallen off of the cylinder. You will have to remove the door panel to reinstall/replace. OR. you could just pop the hood, and diconnect the battery for about a minute
maybe its broken
Go to dealer, expensive, have to get one through them so key is the same as the original so you don't need two keys, door/ ignition. Tear apart steering column.
The factory alarm can not be disabled. If you can not disarm this alarm, the switch on the door key cylinder has failed or is not connected.
It may not be connected right.
