The only way to address an issue with door handle that will not unlock the doors on a MK4 VW Golf is to remove the panel that covers the lock on the door itself. After the panel has been removed the problem can be identified.
With the front door open,the handle is inside the front of the rear door .Pull handle out .
"To manually unlock the passenger door. Put key in passenger door keyhole, lift door handle while turning key clockwise." This happened to my daughter's car. I got this advice on bimmerfest.com and it works!!!
check fuses........ rosdale joe Better ANSWER Door lock solenoid, it is what activates the levers to lock and unlock the door. You will need to remove door handle and interior door panel to get to it.
go to passenger door insert key turn to unlock holding handle up turnkey through 2 clicks passenger door should unlock
Use the door handle.
In the passenger door, turn the key to the unlock position (90 degrees) and play with the handle.
Inside door handle or outside door handle?
you hit the unlock door button twice.
Passenger side of dashboard. With the passenger door open, there is a door on the end portion of the dashboard panel. Turn the small recessed knob to unlock the door and the door will tilt off towards the front of the Vette.
The release handle is under the glove box on the passenger side just in front of the door. It will be a "D" ring type handle. Pulling on it should open the fuel door.
Dealer or local junkyard.
Remove the inside door panel. Remove the door handle linkage. Remove the door handle retaining bolts. The front door handle will come off.
