You have to remove the entire dashboard, steering column, and console to get to it. It makes it easier if you take out the seats as well. Don't pull too hard until you're sure all the screws have been removed. It's also a good time to replace the fire wall insulation and fix all of those dash rattles. For now, just bypass the heater core and wait until you have another car to drive for a few days while you remove your interior. Take the time to route everything perfectly when putting it back together.
