I`m not sure if it`s the same but way down into the steering wheel just past the turn signal switch, there are 4 tork type bolts that come loose. On my 86 jimmy I could only get to two of them but I super glued the threads and tightened them back up and that did the trick. I read where only the two are usually all you need to get re tightened. It worked great for me.
Are you having a problem with the column getting extremely wobbly? Phil
the bearing is out of the colum go to a junk yard buy a replacement colum its the cheapest way out
i have a 1993 ford f 150 truck , it has the same problem, i removed the steering wheel and found a bad bearing. i just need a schematic drawing to see how to replace, and to see the order in which to remove.
exact same problem i am having, i thought my wobbly column was the problem, but i bought an little aftermarket ignition, and it starts better yes but STILL mine is cranking over weak ONCE the engine is hot.. like i drive it for 20 minutes or more, the starter doesn't like being hot?? i don't know, but at least it isn't really the column.
"It was/has been wobbly."
wobbly like crazy
make it wobbly
CHECK A REPAIR MANUAL FOR THE VECHILE AND FIND A PICTURE BREAKDOWN OF THE STEERING COLUMN. THIS WILL SHOW WHERE THE PIN SHOULD GO. YOU CAN FIND REPAIR MANUALS FOR MOST VECHILES AT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY WHICH YOU CAN BORROW AT NO COST TO YOU. YOU CAN ALSO GO TO THE DEALER FOR A PICTURE BREAKDOWN. THEY MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE A CHARGE FOR THE SERVICE. as a mechanic i have seen alot of people do this try getting a diagram and find the missing part or your gonna have to take it to a shop and let them try good luck
You can only go to Wobbly Woods when you are on a Super Moshi Mission.
you mean wobbly as it moves up and down or as in you are able to turn it left and right with out moving the wheels(that you need to move the steering wheel to keep going staright)? if is that then the problem may be a worn out worm gear in the gear box.(sloppy balls) Powerstroke57 If it just started happening I'd look at tires before replacing any expensive parts. Jack up the front-end and spin the tires and look for any separation or "bubbling" If you suspect the tires try and rotating them and retest drive. I have found lot's of front-end problems half to do with something as easy as a worn or separating tires. If not good luck
Wobbly.
