how exactly is the seat malfunctioning? no matter what, if you vehicle is an se model without power seats, the seats come out with just four bolts and the mechanisms are very simple and easy to take apart and put back together. whats wrong should be obvious. if it does have power seats you are looking at a much bigger project.

How do you remove the rear seat in a 2000 Toyota Solara Convertible?

While not specific to your car, most are the same. Just pull up on the front of the seat. Catches will be released on each side then you can pull forward and the entire seat can be removed. No nuts, no bolts, no fuss. The backrest is usually different and may involve removing some bolts. When in doubt, you can purchase a Haynes or Clymer manual for your car (about $25 but worth it) or download the entire factory service manual from Toyota (about $10 and a super bargain).

How do you install a rear facing seat in a 2000 solara?

While there are rear facing seats in limousines and rear facing seats in some older 9 passenger station wagons (commonly referred to as the 'barf' seat) installing one in a Solara presents special challenges. The biggie, it's only a 2-door car so climbing in and out of the back is already a little dicey for many adults. You'd need to remove the existing rear seat to provide legroom. All in all, not a practical modification. Now, if you're asking about installation of a 'baby' seat, the owner's manual both for the Solara and the seat should offer specific (and safe) procedures. Many police departments will also offer help including a demonstration. Cheers

How do you remove the front seats to a Toyota solara?

Since the question is fairly broad (not indicating whether manual or electric seats, with or without side airbags, which model Solara etc) the answer will have to be the same. Seat attachment is similar in all cars. A seat track is bolted to the floor. For the Gen II Solara (Gen I may be the same) you just pop off (4) plastic covers at the front and rear of the track which will expose the mounting bolts. Loosen those bolts and remove the seat. Now some caveats. If you have a Gen II Solara you probably also have an airbag mounted in the seat back. That needs to be disabled so you don't get a face full of airbag. Disconnect the battery before trying to remove the seats. Seatbelts also use a small explosive device as a pretensioner. The same caution applies but seatbelt retractor assemblies shouldn't be messed with. Also leave the electrical connectors alone or risk turning on the SRS light on the dashboard which can be annoying until it's reset. If you have an electrically adjustable seat, there will be connectors under the seat that have to be disconnected before the seat can be removed. Cheers
