When the windshield wiper on a 2000 Ford Ranger comes on by itself this can signal a damaged windshield wiper switch. Changing these switches out often corrects this problem.
It has an electrical problem. Take it to a garage,
Because your wiper switch is turned on!
Sounds like your Wiper Motor may be going bad or you have a loose connection. I had that problem with my '91 APV. If I manually pulled on them they would start working but would eventually lock up again. They would also stop working when it was raining. It turned out to be a bad electrical connection in the wiper motor. If you wiggle the wires going into the wiper motor ( WATCH OUT FOR THE MOVING LINKAGE! ) you may find that that is the problem. Replace the motor and it should work.
If intermittent wiper won't work either, it is most likely a bad wiper motor. Had a dealer replace the wiper switch, but that did not fix either problem. After dealer replaced wiper motor, problems were resolved.
turn signal & wiper relay for a 1998 Chevy blazer
It is inside of the wiper motor. Remove the 2 or 3 screews that's on the black cover that's on the front of the wiper motor and unplug the electrical connector. Remove the cover and then pull the module board out. Real easy no problem.
