How do you fix the air conditioner in a Ford Focus 2002 model?

I had trouble on my 2000 focus air conditioning. I took it in to get it checked out. They charged me 89&tax to tell me it was okay. It still blew hot air out, until my brotherinlaw(God bless him!) checked the fuses and lo and behold..a few dollars later and it was working perfectly! I complained to the dealer, but of course there was no response. Now I would always recommend to check fuses before you ever had ANY work done!

Please note:

1. if fuse(s) are not OK, replace as needed; check also the large fuses inside the fuse box in engine compartment,

2. with car running, turn ac on, if no clutch spinning is noticed there's low or no refrigerant in system, but before adding, check the compressor harness to be plugged in firmly! that was my problem and i fixed it myself saving $$ , -> worked as new.
