on the passenger side, towards the front. Just follow the cooloat lines from your reservoir and one will lead you to it.
your thermostat is gone, is cheapo and easy to fix.
follow the top radiator hose to the engine, that bracket where the hose ends is the thermostat housing, remove that and the thermostat is under it,dont fix it replace it
You can locate the thermostat on the front of the engine follow the upper radiator hose back to the engine - the thermostat is located in the engine housing that the hose connects to, there are usually 2 bolts that you need to remove, take of the housing that holds it in place, remove the gasket and clean, test the thermostat or put in a new one - to test the thermostat hold it over a boiling pot of water with tongs if the thermostat opens this is not your problem if it does not open then your thermostat is faulty. Replace and reseat thermostat, replace the gasket, replace the bolts and radiator hose.
It won't 'blow' your engine to run it without a thermostat. However, it could accelerate wear on the engine over the long term. Also, fuel economy and heater performance will generally deteriorate. Simply put, engines are designed to be run at a certain temperature. For this reason, it is always best to run an engine with the proper thermostat. If your engine is overheating, then the cause of the overheating should be found and addressed rather than trying a band-aid fix such as removing the thermostat.
Replace the thermostat gasket.
Need to know the year and engine size so I can help you. NEUTZ air lock? system blockage? is the thermostat installed correctly? 6.0 Engine Yes on the thermistat installed correctly
Probably not. A thermostat is a cheap fix tho
Drain the cooling systemFollow the upper radiator hose to the engine to locate the thermostatCompress the hose clamp with pliers then slide clamp away from thermostat housingRemove the bolts and detach the housing cover.Stuff rag into the engine opening and remove all traces of old gasket. So, I have a question about an 87 Honda Accord. During the winter (Colorado) I started my car and blew a bolt off the thermostat housing that connects it to the engine... I'm not sure what that part is, or how to fix it, but I would really like to fix it. Do you know what that part is called? Or is it just connected and I would need a whole new engine? Again it's the part between the engine and the thermostat housing.... The bolt busted out and broke the loop that it was put into to hold the thermostat to the engine... ANYONE?
If the engine does not get warm either, it means that the thermostat stock open. You need to replace it or fix the old one.
rather not try fix, its better to replace it new, you dont want its seizing and over heating your engine. Any part / spares shop should stock it for pretty cheap
P0128 says the engine isn't warming up to proper specs. Start with replacing the thermostat.
P0125, engine temperature too low for closed loop. The usual failure is the thermostat.
