White smoke from the exhaust means your vehicle is burning oil. You engine needs to be rebuilt. There is no cheap fix.
no, if white smoke is blowing from your exhaust, it does not mean your car is burning oil, it could just be condensation forming in the exhaust. If it does this just on start up condensation is likely the course, if it's a grey/blue colour, it means your engine is burning oil but does not mean the engine needs to be rebuilt. Keep an eye on oil level, check how many miles/kilometers you travel before you have to top it up and how much you have to top it up. Type of car and how many miles/kilometers it has gone would also be handy. It might just be valve stem seals; try thicker HM oil, there's also a few oil additives you can add to help for that problem. It's definitely worth a try. It could just be a piston sticking a bit, some engine cleaner oil additive normally works wonders for this. Be sure, though, if you take it to a mechanic shop, they are going to say that the engine needs a rebuild so that they can make more money. It happens all the time, 70% of the time this is not the case.
NO
No, but there's a permanent fix. The white smoke means you have coolant getting into the exhaust. Which means you've probably got either a leaking head gasket or a leaking intake manifold gasket. Replace them, and that'll solve the problem, as well as increase the longetivity of your engine.
White smoke from the exhaust is a symptom of coolant entering the combustion chamber. Most likely cause is a blown head gasket, cracked heard, or both. STOP driving this car until you can have it repaired or you will destroy the engine.
All cars blow white smoke when they are cold especially on a cold morning .Worst case scenario if it blows excessive white smoke all the time is a blown head gasket
Find and fix exhaust leak
Could be the O2 Sensor located in the exhaust behind the starter. When those go bad it can make the exhaust have a white smoke coming from it. You can take em out and clean em with Carb Cleaner. If that doesnt help it needs a new one, a new one for the Spirit is only like 20-25 Dollars... might not be worth going threw the hassel of trying to fix the old one.
oil is leaking into combustion chamber
Possibly coolant in the exhaust from a blown head gasket. Fix ASAP. Do not drive until the is fixed. Severe engine damage will occur. Yep. White smoke = heat problems. Blue smoke = oil problems. Heat damage more urgent attention. my carb. went bad and it kept blowing head gaskets, white smoke, the head was good but the bad carb made my piston rings go bad and i was getting oil on the first intake and first exhaust plugs closest to the radiater, i got new engine
you take it to a mechanic
Do NOT get ripped off when you have this fixed ok... First to make sure, cheak that your oil looks milky... if it does then its deffinitly a head gasket... Should cost around $650 to fix and make sure your mechanic uses new blots and spark plugs when fixing it or it will blow again. It should take 2.8 hours to fix Thanks
you should check the head gaskets and check where its coming from because then you know where its coming from.
The cause of white puffing smoke in a diesel is the crack pipe ventilator seal. Fix that it keeps the crack inside.
