go to napa or the likes and get yourself a bottle of radiator flush. the directions will be on the bottle. basically you will drain the radiator by first opening the petcock located on the lower corner of the radiator. once all the coolant has been drained pour the flush into the system and top it off with tap water. you'll have to run the engine with the flush inside with the heater on high (this also flushes out the heater core). after the prescribed time listed on the bottle you will have to again open the petcock and drain the system. run the engine while at the same time making sure to keep the cooling system topped off with water and the petcock wide open. what you want is to flush all the dirty coolant out thru the petcock. once you get clean water coming out of the petcock you can shut the engine off and allow the rest of the water to drain out. close the petcock. mix your new coolant to 50/50 and start to refill the system. you'll want to have the engine running while you top it off to keep the fluid flowing and remove all air in the system. this will help to avoid sending cold fluid into a hot engine that is not running which could lead to cracking metal parts.
