Open your boot up and you'll notice that there is one screw at the top of the light cluster you want to access. Remove this.
Then go to the side. The little sideways V indicator lens at the front of the light assembly is separate from the rest of the lens. Insert a thin flat head screw driver under the long straight side of this little indicator lens, lever it outwards and upwards and towards the front of the car, it will pop out, (fitting is the reverse)
Undo the two screws that will now be visible and gently pull the cluster away from the side outwards a little and rearwards, it will pop off, its held in by brackets and metal bars.
When it's out you undo the necessary bulb anti clockwise and then the bulb itself can be removed and replaced.
Fitting is the reverse of the operation
You normally gain access to the bulb from inside the trunk.

i have a jag x type and my sidelight bulb has blown....in looking space is limited...but has the light array a cover over it and does this unscrew..or just pull off to gain access to the bulb
Jack up the front remove tire pull back (unclip) plastic wheel well cover to gain access to head light bulb.
remove headlight frame you can see it then
Underneath the housin itslef is a black piece of plastic with 3 or 4 screw holding it on. You need to remove this to gain access to the bulb. Once you gain access, simply turn the brown colored base of the bulb counter-clockwise and unplug the wire harness. Insert the new bulb without touching the glass part of the bulb and turn clockwise until the bulb locks into place and replug the wire harness and reinstall the black plastic.
By removing the locks that hold the headlight assembly in place you can wiggle the headlight assembly out to gain access to the headlight bulbs for replacement.
you don't need to remove the whole assembly. open the hatch and there is an access door on the backside of the brakelight assembly, on the inside of the car. Pull the finger hole and you'll gain access to the bulb's socket. Twist to unlock and change the bulb.
