To gain access to the rear speakers in a Toyota Tacoma extended cab you have to remove the entire side rear plastic panel. The removal of the fold down seats may also be required but i know that you have to take that big piece off. Using one of those tools that pops out the panel connectors is useful when putting the panel back on. You will most likely be doing a lot of work taking stuff off so just remember where it goes.

You can actually remove it from the driver's front wheel well.. On my 4x4 V-6 I take off the engine undercover ( takes 12mm skt ) and access it from the driver side bottom .
I believe you remove the transmission dust shield via the 4 bolts that hold it one. once removed, you should have plenty of room to access the rear bolts.
You can open a stuck hood by removing the hood latch. The hood latch can be access through the front grill. Remove the code latch retaining bolts. The hood should be free to open.
