You are probably going to have to remove the radio and take the top off to gain access to the tape. It has probably broken and the tape is fouled.
How do I remove cassette tape stuck in my 1998 Volkswagon beetle
You will most likely have to have the dealership or other repair shop remove the cassette player and open it up to extract the stuck cassette. Depending on what happened the player could then just be reinstalled, but there might also be serious damage to the mechanism of the cassette player that could require repairs or even replacement with a new cassette player.
You take a file, and stick under neath the cassette as a lever and pull it out.
Take a golf tee and jam it in the one little opening of the tape. Use that to wiggle it out
Means it has a cassette in it if there is no cassette that means there must be somthing stuck inside that's making it think it has one . Mine started doing this and it turned out my daughter stuck a small toy inside it
Thermostat is stuck open.
try getting a cassete cleaning tape and run it thru player several times
If auto reverse is stuck on a Delco Cassette Player, let the tape play until it is almost, but not quite to the end. Stop the tape and then rewind it. This should take care of the auto reverse mechanism.
Most of the time you will need to break the tape.
It is a code for the radio or cassette player, meaning something is malfunctioning. I do not think it is locked. I think it may be fried. My tape player got stuck saying there is a tape in it, when it was empty, and it shows the E-13 code. I can not fix it. Also, the CD player works for one or two songs, and then goes to ERR, but the radio works. I was told to buy a new radio cassette CD combo player. NOT! This all occurred after changing the battery. Coincidence? Not sure. If you go to the internet and type in BUICK CODES, they should all come up. What they actually mean in real life, not sure. But it will give you a clue what they should mean!
I am having the same problem - I got the 'stuck' tape out with a pair of tweezers, but the grinding and error 'E 13' continues to be displayed. I did however find this: http://www.carforums.net/showthread.php?t=11337 E13 : Tape Communication Error Cause(s): The micro-processor is reading the speed pulses from the tape deck either too fast or too slow. Correction(s): It the tape player is still playing a cassette, try a new cassette. If there is still an error, service the unit at a Service Center. Looks like the only thing for us is to bring it to a dealer :-( - or get a new system.
Bad "blend door" actuator or stuck blend door on the driver's side.
