This happened to my Ford Taurus SHO. I couldn't get it out for nothing. I ended up just leaving it in and next time I drove it and parked I shut it off, I instinctively pulled on it and it came right out. Other than that, I don't know what you could do.
sorry to say, its easier just to get a new egnition
It will not hurt anything to leave the key stuck in the ignition on ACC in a Mazda van for short periods of time. The ACC slot on the ignition allows the driver to use accessories such as the air conditioner and radio without the car being in motion. If the key is left in this position for too long it can run down the battery in the car.
The key is only available from the dealer.
To remove the "key" ignition, insert a small screwdrived in the hole directly below the ignition in the column. You will need to have the key in the ON position otherwise the ignition will not come out of the column.
dealer bring vin
The key is only available pre cut from the dealer. The dealer will also have to program it.
Accidents like breaking a car key in the ignition do happen. A person can use tweezers to remove the key piece or call a professional.
Perhaps a bad ignition switch
The relay could be stuck.
Bad ignition switch or wrong key.Just replace with new switch about $10.00 NAPA
One to repair an ignition switch on your Astro Van is buy a replacement steering column from a local salvage yard including the ignition key, and replace the whole steering column. RC Houston, TX
get a new key or break ignition with flathead screwdriver or try wiggling old ket around Appended Aug. 7th, 2010: Possible pass-lock failure. this is a switch that is part of the ignition switch, and must be replaced with the whole ignition switch.
Use a strap wrench around the base.
Try putting the key in the ignition and taking out quickly, and or lubricate the ignition lock mechanism. it worked for me.
This happened to me one time. I had to move the position of the steering wheel up and down to unlock the ignition. Good Luck.
That 92 GMC van doesn't have a relay for ignition. Power for the ignition is supplied from the ignition switch.
Your Mazda dealer can replace the keys using the codes for your particular vehicle, or in the worst case re-key the ignition and doors.
Need to replace the ignition in my econoline ford van
has this hey worked in that van before? if it has then u more then likely need to change the ignition it self "the tumblers may have worn out" if it never worked then have a new key cut they will take your vin number and cut u a new key Put a little presure on the key ( like tring to turn the Key but not to hard ) bump the key lightly with a hammer while triing to turn it. This will fix this problem 99% of the time, spray some break dust cleaner in to the ignition and work the key in and out several times. This should take care of the problem.
If you talking about were the key goes into the Ignition then try this. I have a 1991 aerostar. Disconnect your battery. Then remove the screws holding the plastic steering wheel cover. then by looking at the bottom of the steering wheel near the ignition you should see a little button (or what looks like a hole) With the key in the ignition push this button/hole and pull on the ignition (not Majorly hard) Slowly turn the key and it should come out easaly when it is in the on position.
try not stealing a car.
Most often it is the starter and not the ignition.
call your local friendly gm dealer and have your vin ready
