15.00. for gasket and thermostat
Power steering fluid, transmission fluid and filter, cooling system.
Thermostat replacementI received a quote for my 2000 Grand Prix 3.6 from the Chevrolet Dealer and it was around $300.00, for drain/fill antifreeze and removal/replacement of thermostat. I did my own for around $25.00, cost of thermostat, gasket and antifreeze. I took some short cuts and works fine just remember you have to bleed the air from the cooling system with the little screw on the top of the thermostat housing. If not the engine will over heat and you will have an air lock in the engine cooling system and it will lock-up.
well the thermostat open at 195 degrees, so the fans should come on at the same time
On a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis : The Original Equipment engine cooling thermostat would have been ( around 192 * Fahrenheit )
The 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix cooling fan sensor is located on the front of the engine. The fan sensor can be found just above the thermostat.
Could be,Low on coolant,A stuck closed faulty thermostat,A faulty cooling fan motor/system,
We don't know what relay you are referring to. Check your thermostat and radiator fan. Fluch out your cooling system.
Are you loosing water and if so you will need to pressure test the cooling system. Repair any leaks and replace the thermostat. Then check your cooling fans for proper operation.
water pump or cooling fans or thermostat low coolant
When you set the "thermostat" you're actually opening or closing a valve that lets hot water from the engine cooling system run through the heater core. That valve is stuck open. more than likely you have a bad thermostat, or the system could need recharging.
remove all the coolant in the system take out thermostat put new thermostat in fill system...
