Hydrogen Prooxide has always worked for me. A nurse in my doctor's office suggested it after I had a bad accident at home. This should be tested to be sure it does not rune the type fabric in your carpet. ***Another thing that works on dry blood stains is hairspray and warm water, weird but it seems to work.
