You can also enclose your mattress in a plastic bag for two weeks. After that time all of the lice will be dead. You can enclose it by cutting open garbage bags and taping them together. Yes. you can freeze your mattress to kill dust mites, lice, etc. But you will have to live in an area that goes below 32 degrees Fahrenheit at times, and holds that temp for several hours at least. Put your mattress AND you pillows out in the cold then give the mattress a good through vacuuming on both sides.

Lysol disinfectant and a vacuum will treat your mattress. If you want to go to extremes, you could spray it down with bleach water and let it dry. Wash your linens in hot water and put pillows in dryer on high heat for 30 minutes. Make sure to vacuum carpets and treat with flea powder for carpets.
