It depends on why it's on. If you have an Auto Zone nearby you can borrow their hand held computer & hook it up to read why the engine light is on. Sometimes my light kicks on when it's damp/raining out. I also have a small valve cover leak into the 2nd cylinder. I unplug the spark plug wires, wipe them down and the light usually goes off for me. Also try disconnecting the battery cable. Hope this helps! Kim
