Your goal is unrealistic, and will not be achieved. The most weight you can lose in a week, SAFELY, is 1-2 pounds. Obviously, losing 2 pounds doesn't make you "skinny".
However, here are some great tips for improving your health and fitness:
- Exercise at least for 30 minutes a day, 3 to 5 days a week.
- Don't stop eating! Snack throughout the day on fruits and vegetables. Eat small meals, and eat more at breakfast, less at lunch and the least at supper.
- Tell yourself "I am healthy, fit and strong." Write it on post it notes and stick one on your mirror and on your fridge door, and any other place where you may be tempted by unhealthy habits.
- Choose healthy alternatives. Instead of buying ice cream, choose a low fat Frozen Yogurt.
- Always, always eat your breakfast. Skipping meals causes your body to hoard energy.
Eat at the same time every day, not sporadically, when you're hungry, or when you find the time.
- do NOT follow "low carb" or "low fat" diets. Fat is 30% of your diet, carbohydrates are 60%. They may get a bad wrap in popular media, but these are essential nutrients that your body requires. It's the quality of the nutrients you consume, not the quanitity of them!
- Drink water. Water should be your only liquid nutrient, besides milk. Avoid juices that are high in sugar and lack fibre. If you like Orange Juice, try eating fresh Oranges instead.
- Avoid high fat, high carbohydrate foods. Look for fibre.
Don't give up. You will fall off the bandwagon of healthy eating and exercise. It happens to us all. Just be sure to get back into the swing of it when you feel yourself falling into old habits.
