no a burnt out headlight will not cause a check engine light but if you go to most of the part places they will check the check engine light for free

There are a number of reasons why the check engine light comes on, on a Suzuki x90. This is an indication that there is some malfunction in the engine which requires attention.

Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes
Faulty catalytic converter, or sensors in exhaust faulty
disconnect the battery for 10 mins

I just unscrew and take both battery cables off the battery for about 15 minutes and put back on. This should reset the engine light. The check engine light should go out. If it doesn't, you have trouble
