Depends if it is a cap or a plug or no hub or a brass /lead plug
You need to use a key to take the wheel hub cap off a 2004 VW Beetle. Once you insert the key, you can pull the hub cap off so you can reach the lug nuts.
I just pry them off with the crow bar.
The rear drums come off with the rear wheel hub. You Jack up the car, remove the wheel.Remove the cap in the center of the hub. Take the cotter pin out, unscrew the wheel bearing retainer nut. Remove the hub cap if equipped. Remove the snap ring holding the lock out hub (regular pliers will work). Pull old lock out hub off. It is sometimes necessary to carefully tap around the hub while pulling it. Insert replacement hub. Replace snap ring and hub cap.
Take off the wheel and the brakes. There should be a cap in the center of the hub, take that off. There will be a nut with a cotter pin through it, take out the cotter pin. Unscrew the nut, take out washer. Slide hub off spindle. Knock the back seal out of the hub. Clean the hub, pack bearings and hub with grease. Place new back bearing back into hub, then lightly tap seal into hub. Put the hub onto the spindle. Put in front bearing, washer, nut, cotterpin, and cap. Replace tire.
Heat shield on catalytic converter? Loose shock or strut mount? Pebbles caught in hub cap? Lug bolt fell off in hub cap?
Remove hub cap and the snap ring that holds the splinen cap in place.
you'll need to pop off the grease cap then remove the snap ring to get the hub off to get the rotor off.
Remove the tire and wheel. Remove the brake assembly and rotor. Remove the axle end cap. The rear hub assembly will come off.
how do you remove automatic locking hub. Well to replace the rotor you must take off the hub. to take off the hub you remove the cap. then there is a snap ring you must push together and pull the inside of the hub out. After that you need a special socket that has 4 prongs on it. take the nut off. then pull the washer out and take off the other nut witch needs the same socket. then your rotor is free to come off just pull.
I own a 2002 kia sportage I installed warn hubs on it . It is very easy on the 2002 you dont even have to remove the wheels . remove the center cap off of the wheel,then remove the bolts on the old hub remove old hub replace with new hub tighten bolts your done but the center cap will not fit.
