Hopefully, you have the Users Guide to your car. Many radios today have security built in. If your battery is disconnected or if the radio is removed, when you attach power later, you need a 'code' to enter into the radio to get around the security. In your owners manual, it will tell you what steps to follow. Ex: Turn radio on, press button 1, enter security code by pressing buttons 4 and 6. When correct code is entered, radio will play. Here's the problem - if you didn't write down the code when you got the car new or don't have the code from the previous owner, you can try the dealership for that car. I have had the Service Manager at Saturn walk me through to get the security code, then he looked up what numbers I needed to punch in. Good luck, every radio is different.

You need your operator's folder. In there is a booklet about the radio. it will have a code you need to enter to get the radio out of "safe" mode. the code is unique to each radio and car.

Firstly you need your 4 digit pin code for the radio. On the screen where if shows safe, it will change to the number 1000, using the numbers 1 to 6 on your radio, punch in the pin code then press down on the centre of the arrows on the left hand side of the CD player and it will then reset your radio. It worked for me, hopefully it will work for others too.
