there are 2 screws holding the airbag in on the back side. make sure you set the air bag logo side up
unplug the air bag fuse
Looks like the center piece of the steering wheel pops out and the air bag pops.
air bag has to be disconnected and taken out of the steering wheel and then the nut that holds the wheel on has to be taken off and a wheel puller is used to pull the wheel off it's splines.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal before removing the steering wheel.
you will have take the air bag off if equipp the steering wheel turn signal switch and lock plate
As long as the what caused the air bag to go off did not damage the steering, yes.If I trigger the air bag by mistake working on the car it will still steer.
Be sure to deactivate the air bag before working on the steering wheel. I just disconnect both battery connections and let it set 15 minutes. Insert a flat tip screwdriver into each slot on the back of the steering wheel and twist slightly to release air bag retaining clips.Don't do this while sitting in the drivers seat, the bag might go off! Pull the bag off, release the small assurance clip then the connector will pull out of the air bag. Set it in the bed, bag side up so the cover can't become a projectile if it goes off. Pull the horn connector out of the steering wheel. Back the large bolt out most of the way on the steering wheel puller . Bolt the puller to the wheel with 2 bolts and screw the large bolt back into the puller. I tap on the wheel as I screw it in.

Center front wheels (1007) to the straight-ahead position. 2. WARNING: THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY MUST BE DISCHARGED BEFORE ANY AIR BAG COMPONENT IS SERVICED. Disconnect battery to starter relay cable (14300) for at least one minute to let the air bag backup power supply discharge. Refer to «Section 14-00». 3. Remove four air bag module retaining nuts from air bag module on back side of steering wheel (3600), and lift module away from steering wheel. 4. Disconnect air bag wire harness connector, and remove module from steering wheel. 5. Disconnect horn/speed control wire harness connector in steering wheel. 6. Remove steering wheel retaining bolt. 7. Install Steering Wheel Puller T77L-4220-B1 and remove steering wheel. Route contact assembly wire harnesses through steering wheel as steering wheel is lifted off shaft.
first disconect batt then remove air bag assy from center of wheel and unplug wires. reinstall air bag now it cannot go off
Remove two screws 10mm from back of steering wheel,take the air bag part off the steering wheel after removing the two screws,then there should be one big bolt that you haft to remove . The steering wheel will come right off..
you have to have the computer reset by the dealer
Pop the horn button off. Under that is the larger nut that holds the wheel in place. Afte that is removed, use a steering wheel puller to remove the wheel.
