The intake manifold, exhaust manifold, must be removed. Then the head itself must be removed. This is a major repair that requires knowledge, skill, and the proper tools. Not a repair you should tackle, unless you know what you are doing. The fact that you ask this question, would indicate you need to take it to a professional.

you must also remove the alternator, Power Steering pump, throttle body, egr valve, thermostat assembly, rigid coolant line leading to the heater core, among other things....just did the job, car runs great....plan on $350-$400 for a remanufactured cylinder head.
