How change ignition switch in Lexus ES 300
no the switch can be independly remove from the back side of the ignition lock
It is possible that your ignition switch is loose or out of adjustment. They used to be located above the brake pedal on or near the bottom of the steering column.
Ignition switch. Not the lock, the column mounted ignition switch.
Sounds like a selenoid problem.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove steering column covers Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition switch Remove the screw retaining the switch to the steering column
i had same problem on my 94 cutlass supreme...long story short, it was the ignition switch. $300. at shop.
Put a jumper wire across the terminals on the switch if the lights work (with ignition switch set to "on" position) switch is defective
Check Gas pump and relays
unhook neg battery cable then wait 10 mins for disgarge of capaciter then proceed to change ignition
you will have take the air bag off if equipp the steering wheel turn signal switch and lock plate
Check the fuse.
