How do you get to the turn signal flasher on a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis?

There are two different ways they did this on the 95-97 Grand Marquis. Some have a flasher module, about $12.00. It will be located on the left side of the dash, in the fusebox. If your car doesn't have one there, the flasher is built into the lighting control module (About $325-350). That module is on the inside of the firewall, just left of the steering column. Another source of your problem could be the multifunction switch, which controls the turn signals, flashers and high/low beam switch. It's the box inside the steering column that the turn signal stalk attaches to. The turn signals and flashers portion of it has been known to go out, while everything else on it works. Replacing it is a nuisance, as the tilt lever is in the way. Good luck.

Flashers are usually located under the dash on the drivers side. Look for a tall square silver looking box that is plugged into the fusebox.

Before going through all the trouble, if your hazard flashers and turn signals aren't working spray some WD-40 on the hard switch and in between the steering column it may turn them back on. It worked for me.
