As time passes, you may realize that you don't want to be in a relationship with him again and you may meet someone else you find more interesting. Any attempts to get him back will most likely backfire and make things worse. If you did something to offend him, you could apologize to see if it makes a difference, but your best bet is to try to move forward in your life.

It depends who dumped who. If you dumped him, say you made a mistake and want to be with him again. If he dumped you, it will be harder- especially if he likes someone else.
