I have a Zune Hd and also had this problem.
Go to: Start >Control Panel >Windows Firewall >Change Settings >Exceptions and check the box "Zune Wireless Sync". Then hit "ok".
That should fix your problem, (to sync media, open the zune software while your zune is connected, to charge and use the zune close the zune software).
From my personal experience with the itunes and Zune software, i would have to say the Zune software wins. You can tell the software to Sync all the songs in your collection, and when you plug your Zune HD up to your computer it start syncing all your music. You can tell your Zune to wireless sync and it connects to your computer and sync's over your internet. (your computer needs to be on to wireless sync)

Connect your Zune and open the Zune software. If the computer won't detect the device... Go to: Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Change Settings > Exceptions and check the box "Zune Wireless Sync." Then hit "okay." That should fix your problem. Not yet but with the 4.7 firmware update in September they will.

If you want an easy to use media player, with internet, hd radio and apps, i would suggest the Zune HD.On the other hand you could get a computer. (you probably know what a computer can do)
no but it can connect with other zune hd's
To load downloaded audiobooks in MP4 format onto a Zune, first, connect your Zune device to your computer using a USB cable. Open the Zune software, then drag and drop the MP4 audiobook files into your Zune library. After the files are added, sync your Zune device by clicking on the "Sync" button to transfer the audiobooks to your Zune. Once the sync is complete, you can find your audiobooks in the "Audiobooks" section on your device.
No, the zune hd doesnt have a buit in speaker.
It cost $10 to make a Zune HD.
