In Windows, to bring up the DOS screen, simply go to the start menu, choose RUN, and enter CMD. You can also access the DOS screen from Windows during startup by hitting F8 during the boot process and choosing COMMAND PROMPT.

There is no "DOS mode" in Windows 7. However, in the 32-bit versions of Windows 7 there are an unlimited number of DOS windows. You can run most DOS text-based (WordStar, Word Perfect, New Word, etc.) programs in a DOS window. As with Windows XP there is a way to cut and paste between DOS windows and regular Windows apps, but it is tricky.

When your computer is in MS-DOS mode how would you put it back into DOS mode?

Both are same..AnswerQuit MS-DOS (alt+F4) to get back to windows. Then go to Start -> Shutdown -> Restart in DOS mode. The computer will restart DOS but won't start windows. When you want to start windows again, just type win. ANSWER:MS-DOS and DOS are the same program: MicroSoft Disk Operating System. If your computer is in DOS mode, type WIN to start up windows. However, if you are already in Windows, then you are actually in the DOS prompt (also called the command prompt) which is a simulated DOS environment run by Windows. In this case, just type EXIT to return to Windows. If you are trying to get your computer into DOS mode, and you have either Windows 95 or 98, go to Start --> Shutdown, and select the option that says "Restart in MS-DOS mode". If you have any version of windows after 95 or 98, then go to Start --> Run, and type in Command to get into the command prompt.

How can you access DOS while Windows XP SP2 is starting up?

Windows XP does not have 'proper' dos, but it does have a command prompt which is a lot like dos. You can access a DOS-like command prompt before booting Windows XP by first restarting your computer and before the Windows XP loading screen appears, repeatedly hit the 'F8' key on your keyboard. This will give you boot up options. One of them will be 'Safe Mode with Command Prompt'. This is the same command prompt that would appear if you hit [Windows]+[R] key in Windows and typed 'cmd' and then hit enter.

When you are in DOS mode what is the command to get back to Windows?

The command is exit regardless what version of DOS or Windows you are running. DOS has not changed even in the Windows 2000 and XP versions exit is still the command to close a DOS correctly. When you get to DOS type ver or version to see what version of DOS you are running. Plus, how are you getting to DOS from Windows? Are you opening a Run prompt and typing command? Are are you typing cmd at the Run prompt? This has something to do with it also. type Exit and press enter Other wise you are on Restart in DOS MODE then Press Win and your computer automatically restart other press ALT+TAB or Alt+Tab
