There are several ways of hunting seals. Inuit in Canada's north wait at a breathing hole in the ice and harpoon the seal as it comes up for a breath. Other hunters simply shoot them as the lie on ice floes, this option results in many lost seals as they struggle back into the water and sink. Baby seals may. of course, be clubbed to ensure no damage to the skin.
