The best solution is to purchase and install a clamp on block heater which is available through a Suzuki dealer. To my knowledge, you can't install a normal type of block heater (installs in frost plug). Dave Saskatchewan Canada 96 Suzuki Sidekick Sport

Remove and engine block expansion plug. Insert the block heater. Seal the block heater. Attached the wiring harness to the block heater.

The car doesn't have a block heater unless you put one in so there will not be a cord otherwise.
umm, as far as i know all xl7's are equipped with a block heater the plug should be neatly tywrapped i belive near the passenger side headlight ,under the hood (partialy hidden)

Install block heater in lower rad hose .
Begin by training the water from your 2003 engine block. Remove the wiring harness from the block heater. Remove the block heater retaining bolts. The block heater will come out. Reverse the process to install your new block heater.
on a lhd its on the left rear edge of the engine block. this may be reversed for rhd.
drain coolant from radiator, remove one of the frost plugs in engine block, install block heater in place of frost plug, refill radiator with coolant.
I do never found out where the engine number was on a 2007 Suzuki Grand vitara but I did find out you can call the dealer and give them your VIN number and they can give you an engine number.
