You will need to see if it is bolted to the side of motor, if so, remove fastener and clean the area where it goes into the engine. The dip-stick tube is generally pressed into place so you will need to attach a vice-grip to it and drive it out of the motor. Put a small amount of sealer on the end of the new one, and it must be started squarley (and orientated with the bolt hole lined up)into the block opening or it will bind.
