it's been a while but I'm pretty sure you pop the door panel off, the motor should be in a assembly and with wire disconnect. there might be 3 screws actually holding it on - but the problem on my 92 and 94 Driver side is the same - HOW DO WE, cut replace the 3 holding bolts/screws which must be 100& fixed in line with the FRAMED structure of the door, from the safety-engineering point, as well as alined for long term mechanical integrity/strength for lifetime of the door.
So as to what I have found on the www - no answer and pictures - so, I say, "Do not START" ordering NEW MOTOR before verifying it is the problem (Connect to another 12V power with ground on vehicle itself for best DC bidirectional operation of the Windows-Up Windows-Down action wanted by driver.) after verifying the fuses are OK and the controlling switch for the window is also OK (New ones are now less the $25, so having a spare is also good, as originals do not last the lifetime of the Aerostar.
I have now 2 Aerostars with same problems...
how do you change a window motor on a 93 aerostar or can you please tell me how to get the windows down without the motor... my e-mail is snakespittbulls@yahoo.com
Did you check for power to the motor? If the switch doesn't work then the motor won't work. If there is power to the connector that hooks onto the motor then the part may be defective, if not then trace it back.
Hi, The problem with your pass side window is the drivers side power window switch. I have had this same problem on my 1993 Aerostar.
Do you have to remove the window to take out the whole power window unit? Or better yet, how do you get it out???
Remove the inside door panel of your 1997 Mercury Cougar. Remove the wiring harness from the window motor. Remove the window motor linkage. Remove the window motor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new window motor.
It's the switch because the motor is getting power to go up but not down.
You will need to remove the inside door panel of your Chevrolet El Camino. Remove the wiring harness from the window motor. Remove the window motor linkage. Remove the window motor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new power window motor.
Begin by removing the 1994 Chevy passenger side door panel. Remove the window motor wiring harness. Remove the window motor linkage. Remove the window motor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new window motor.
Simply purchase the window motor first. Unbolt the other window motor that needs replacement then mount the new one into the correct position and bolt the place.
i just bought a dodge neon 2 days ago and i love it i just wish i could install an alarm system and power window motor. i have no idea i hope someone can answer soon
1. Remove the power window regulator2. Install a pan head sheet metal tapping screw through the sector gear and the backing plate at the hole provided to lock the sector gear into position. Then drill out the motor to regulator attaching rivets.3. Remove the motor from the regulator. To install:1. Lubricate the motor drive gear and the regulator sector teeth. Install the motor to the regulator and check the mesh of the motor to the regulator.2. Install rivets to the motor and the regulator.3. Remove the sheet metal tapping screw.4. Install the power window regulator.
I need to know the best way to remove and install the new window motor for a 96 Ford Windstar drivers side. Ray
