I would not recommend airbag repairs for the diy'r. Take it to a professional. If you are still going to try, unhook the battery for at least 5 minutes before you begin.
That job is best left to a professional as serious injury can be caused.
remove the four screws that come from the backside of the steering wheel this should allow you to remove the center part be careful with the air bag connection* Disconnect the battery for thirty minutes to discharge the airbag capacitor before removing the airbag. Wear protective eyewear. Hold the airbag with the cover aimed away from you. Do not mess with the airbag electrical connections while it is disconnected.
Because you disconnected the SRS. Try resetting the SRS light and see if it stays off. If it comes back on, something is wrong. The air bag may be disconnected. I hesitate to tell you any more. Working on the SRS can be very dangerous. It can inflate at any time if you make a mistake. Be very careful or take it to a pro.
be careful when u change the battery take off the key of the switch.
It means that you must reread the selection carefully and try to understand it completely
I have a 1999 Lumina LTZ and the the power steering reservoir was impossible to find. Much like the other components in this monster 3800 engine like the battery hidden under the washer fluid....the power steering reservoir is located underneath the alternator. Be careful that when you remove the cap you don't get debris from the top into the reservoir.
screwdriver, be careful not to snap it
Be careful if you're charging the lithium battery with a generator connected through an isolator.
