take it to a mechanic
All you need to do is put a wrench on the belt tensioner and move it in the direction that relieves the tension. This will make it possible to remove and install the old and new belt.
no timing belt
I used a breaker bar for the tension pulley to relieve the tension to remove the belt, I think there are three bolts that hold the tension pulley on, just remove them and reverse the procedure to install. Follow the diagram that is either on the inside of the hood or on the radiator cover on how to thread the belt back on the pulleys.
15 mm wrench Put it on the tension pulley and pull to take tension off belt
Release the tension on the belt using the tension pulley. Install new belt. I have a diagram for a 2002 will sent it and more detailed info if you email me at msgt4sped@aol.com
You should not have removed the tensioner to install the belt. It has a pivot point that and can be moved in order to release the tension on the belt. Once you install the new belt, leave it off the tensioner until last, pivit it and install the belt oner the tensioner.
must find the belt tension rotator and then either lossen it or use a crow bar to move tension arm . install the serpintine belt and at the same time the tension arm must move to alow the belt to set right on all pullies. it should be obvious as to how the belt goes and the arm,,,once motivated to move up ...to tighten the belt once the install of the belt is done.
replace tension put it on
insert a 1/2" rachet into the tension pully, pull clock wise this will relive the tension on the belt thus allowing you to remove the belt repet to install new belt. make sure the groves of the belt are properly in place before relasing the tension pully back to tension
At the top of the belt path there is a belt tensioner with a pulley attached to it; this is spring loaded. Take a wrench and pry against the tensioner.Simply remove the belt and install the new one as the tension is relaxed. Make sure that you review the belt path prior to removal.
It's on the front of the engine and the belt rides on it's pulley, it's the pulley that you have to release to get the belt off.
There is a belt tension pulley with a slot for a 1/2 " drive ratchet release tension (MIGHT HAVE TO USE A CHEATER BAR) install belt. Done deal.
