It is not easy. The low pressure port is down low, close to the radiator, in the front.
You almost cannot help burning your hand on the hot radiator, as you fill the AC system. It must be running when you do this.
Try staring the engine, and clipping on and filling it very quickly, before the radiator gets hot. Don't try filling without a pressure valve, and take your time, shaking the can while holding it upside down.
