Not an easy task since you have to remove the Front Bumper Cover to get access to it. Once that's done, remove the electrical connectors, the screws and the Headlight Assembly.
Factory service manuals that have been scanned and converted to Adobe Acrobat files are available for just a few dollars on eBay. Although I cannot tell you that I have seen the instructions to remove the bumper cover in these manuals they have the most complete instructions available since the original paper manual is put out by Subaru.
Turn wheel fully in for easier access. Remove clips from bottom of bumper cover (2 ea). Pull mud guard away from bumper cover. Disconnect plug. Remove cover by rotating counterclockwise. Change bulb. Reinstall cover & connector. Verify operation. Reinstall Mudguard. Put wheels straight so wife won't scratch car.....

if you look under the car from the front bumper (05-07 models) you will see a plastic cover protecting the car's engine from Debris. There is one square that has three plastic screws and labeled oil filter under here. Do a half turn on the three screws and pop the cover off. and there is your oil filter
You have to remove the console cover. This starts with two screws in the console storage tray.
yup..my rear windshield imploded last night when my friends got in the passenger doors and shut them at the same time...2011 and of course...subaru wouldn't cover it.
Subaru 4 cylinder does not use a serpentine belt. The 6 cylinder instructions are rather simple, same as my '88 Cavalier and I presume any car that uses a serpentine belt. This comes from the factory service manual: remove collector cover install tool to tensioner pulley installation bolt rotate tool clockwise to loosen the belt and remove install in reverse order
Turn wheel in for easier access. Remove the two clips that hold the lower mud guard to the bottom of the bumper cover & move mud guard for access. Remove connector. Remove rear fog light cover by rotating counterclockwise. Remove spring clip & replace bulb. Re-install cover & connector. Verify operation. Re-install lower mud guard.
Just the bumper cover, or the reinforcement bar also? The cover goes on with either pins that go in and expand, couple of screws. If the whole assembly, a couple of bolts on each frame rail. Depends on what you are working with.
Take the bolts out remove bummper install new reinstall bolts
Remove Headlight Housing(2 bolts, 1 screw), rotate plastic cover counterclockwise, remove faulty bulb, install new bulb(Low Beam H1-12V-55W, High Beam HB3 / 9005). Electrify to verify. Re-install plastic cover & Headlight Housing. Warning: Do not touch the glass part of the halogen bulb. You'll live to regret it...
