Remove the deck. First by pulling the pins that attach the lift brackets, and then remove the rear spring, and the 2 belt guides under the engine for the belt that drives the deck (1/4" socket). After the deck is out, release the spring that applies tention on the right idler pulley (you'll have to remove the 2 side pulley covers).
you probably have a bad bearing
you were no help
You'll need the snowblower, the mule drive for the snowblower, and the belt off of your mower deck. The blower attaches where the mower deck mule drive snaps in with the two spring pins. The mule attaches to the bottom of the blower and back to the deck height adjustment hookup. Run the belt from your PTO, through your idler pulleys on the mule, then round the drive puller on the blower. Tension the belt and you're off. Case tractors are beautifully simple.
The belt is too loose. Replace it or adjust the idler.
The idler pulley is located just in front of and to the left of the right-side mower pulley. It's mounted on a bracket which has a long spring attached from it to the front of the mower deck. You can see a good diagram of this at www.partsandservice.com/html/Murray/lt/lt42910x92a.html and click on "mower housing". The belt is Murray part # 37X75 which translates to 1/2" wide by 91.25" around. Any larger mower shop would have this or an aftermarket equivilant.
Different makes and models install differently. Please ask again with the make and model.
The deck must be slipped beneath the machine from the left, the lift lever locked down and the rear hangers and front hanger plate attached. The belt will take take a 90 degree twist with the front part to the left side.
A model number would tell what deck you have.
Cub uses several models of mowing decks. However, if you have the standard 54" deck,
One might learn how to install a 42 inch deck belt on a John Deere lawnmower by looking at their user manual. A better route to this may be to take it to a lawn mower shop for repair.
Changing the deck belt on the Huskee IT4200 lawn mower involves working around the spring and 2 belt drive guides in the motor area. Properly loading the spring before the guides is the secret to success.
