The easiest way is to remove the cap with all the wires on it. Put the new cap on and do it one wire at a time starting with the longest wire working your way to the shortest. Remember to find a reference point on both caps so you start with the right wire going to the right plug in. Use the side bolts or clips as a reference point. Take your time.

How do you change the plugs wires distributor cap and rotor on a Chevy s10 2.2l 4-cylinder 5 spd?

Remove the old distributor cap from on top of the distributor but do not disconnect any plug wires. Push it aside. Remove the old rotor and install a new one. Then install the new distributor cap. Remove the plug wires from the old cap one at a time and plug then into the new cap in the same locations as they came off the old cap. Go around in a circle until all the old plug wires are plugged into the new cap. Discard the old cap. Now remove one plug wire from the new distributor cap and the corresponding spark plug, and choose a new wire the same length. Install that wire on the spark plug and connect the other end to the distributor. Repeat the process on all plug wires until all the old ones have been removed and replaced. Do not get them mixed up. By doing them one at a time you will have no problem.

How do you install a spark plug wire on a 1990 Toyota Camry?

Depends on which distributer cap you have. If it has separate wires just replace it. If the wires are part of the cap you replace the cap and all the wires. Not one of Toyota's better ideas. Runs $50-60.

How do you change the distributor cap on a 1983 Buick Roadmaster when you need pin 1?

Best way to change the Cap is to follow all the plug wires back from their cylinders and mark the plug wires with the correct cylinder number. Then remove the old cap "With the plug wires still attached". Only pull the plug wires off the plugs and not the cap. The Cap is "Keyed" so it will only go on one way. Install the new cap and reference the "Key" (usually a small tab at the base of the cap that fits into a small slot on the distributor body. Visually line these tabs up from the old to the new cap and pull off one plug wire at a time and install it into the new cap and then to it's spark plug. TommyTrouble Your question has an error in it, there was no Roadmaster in 1983. Do you mean 1993? What do you mean by "pin 1?"
