look on the drivers side of the front cylinder head you will see a drive wheel in a small housing there are one bolt and two nuts to remove after you get the cover off you get a 13 mm wrench put it on the nut close to the radiator push the little pulley towards the center of the car remove the belt off the tensioner unwind it from all pulleys it may take you a minute to get it off the all pulleys then in reverse order install if you have a long thin screwdriver it will help you get it back on the lower pulley first, then the big one then after you get the belt on all pulley's then you release slowly tensioner with the wrench. install two nuts and one bolt if you have and extension magnet to help with the bolt so you don't drop it it is a 10 mm bolt good luck
Driver's side, front upper corner of the engine. It is driven by a small belt. The water pump requires a special tool to remove and install from housing.
Best way is to remove the water pump belt tensioner. to get the old belt off and the new belt on. this is the easiest way to accomplish the task. 2 bolts hold it in place on the water pump housing.
You first disconnect the battery, then drain the cooling system, discount belt from engine and water belt pulley, then remove the water pump bolts and remove the water pump, then you install the new water pump and put everything back.
Drain the cooling system.Remove the air filter housing.Remove the water pump belt and the water pump tensioner and any associated brackets.Unbolt and remove the water pump cover.Use a Northstar water pump socket (nothing else will work), rotate the water pump slightly clockwise, then pull it out.Replace the water pump seal. This usually is not included with the new water pump. Reverse the above steps to install the new water pump.Let me know if this helps. It looks like a hard job, but if you take your time it's pretty easy and doesn't take long. Don't rush or look for shortcuts.
my northstar pool pump is making noise.I think it might need new bearings. How do I take the motor off./
Drain the radiator. Remove the pump belt, fan, and fan shroud. Unbolt the pump then remove it. Bolt the new pump on, and install the fan an shroud. Put the belt on and refill the radiator with fresh coolant.
Just had it done pump alone 350.00 but they will probably recommend new belt, themostat and hoses runing it up to 700.00.
The water pump should be along the serpentine belt. Refer to how to change a driveline belt at this site. The water pump should be located to the right(driver side) of the vehicle and it should be at the highest position on that side.
Secure the water pump with the retaining bolts. Connect the water pump hose. Put the belt on to the water pump. Fill your cooling system with anti-freeze.
Begin by removing your water pump belt. Remove the water pump return hose. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new water pump.
Drain the water from the cooling system. Remove the belt from the water pump. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new water pump.
it is in the block behind the timing cover. the timing belt drives the water pump so you have to remove the timing components to install the water pump.
